Trot Trot to Boston

Trot trot to Boston,
Trot troy to Lynn,
Look out Joseph, or you might
FALL IN!

Trot Trot to Boston is a well known old nursery rhyme, one of many known as Horse Trotting rhymes. Young children love the rhymes and the lap games that accompany them. They line up eagerly for a turn, and laugh while watching their classmates have their turn.  After the big drop, the children shout, “Again!”
We incorporate these warm and simple games into our day not only because they are fun,
but because they help children to bond with their teachers.  The predictability of the games helps the children to feel safe and secure as they learn to view adults as a source of
comfort and strength. They help us to build warm and reciprocal relationships in our
classroom.
