You Can't Turn 4 Without Latkes and Ketchup!

Happy Birthday Teddy Post!! Yesterday Jessica Post came in to read one of Teddy's favorite Chanukah books along with the book that all the Tel Aviv children write for each friend's special day. The celebration continued today when Jessica helped JB Royal, Sam's father, to make the best latkes imaginable. In my 11 years at TBSCC, I have never seen so many children and adults gobble up latkes like they did today. I brought home 4 for my husband, who sadly, only had 2 left by the time he got home from work! As you can see, the whole Post family enjoyed the latkes, even 10 month old Olivia.

  1. Wait a minute! Ketchup on latkes?! Is that a new tradition? I think we need some more details on how that came to be. :)

  2. I laughed out loud when I read about how your husband only got two latkes. Priceless!

  3. The following is the history behind the ketchup on latkes phenomenon, started by Teddy Post. Apparently Teddy adores ketchup, especially on french fries. When Jessica, Teddy's mom, offered him some latkes saying they were fried potatoes, Teddy said that he didn't like potatoes. Jessica followed by saying that latkes were actually flat french fries. Teddy then asked:"would they be yummy with ketchup?" The rest is history!
