The All Star Lunch Bunch children asked if they could be the teacher today. The teachers embraced the idea and immediately sat down on the rug with their best listening look on their face. There were fourteen teachers and two students(that's a pretty good ratio wouldn't you say). First we sang our welcome song and then, enjoyed a group sing-a-long.
After peace-out-time we went down to the Community Room for some gross motor time. The most popular station was the slide/ramp. Sometimes the children go up the stairs and down the slide, but today we had the opportunity to crawl, climb or run up the slide and go down the stairs. The children experimented with their socks on and off. They found it was much easier to get up the ramp with their socks off. Some of the children could walk/run up the slide without using their upper body at all. This exercise really challenged the muscles in their legs, feet, toes and torso. When they reached the top of the slide, the smile on their face said it all, "I did it !" They were so happy they made it to the top all by themselves!
What great action shots!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like those students really have the routines down pat!
