Let's Celebrate Purim
The Sunshine class began learning about Purim today, and the children have already become familiar with the story of Queen Esther, King Ahasuerus, Mordecai and Haman (Booo!) We explored several books about Purim and began to make our graggers which we will use in many retellings and readings of the Megillah. Here, Alana and Eli work together on a Purim puzzle that depicts the major characters and symbols of Purim. This joyous celebration presents us with many opportunities for multi-sensory learning as we perform the mitzvot of Purim; we will celebrate with music and song, through the stories we read and re-enact, through the baking of hamantaschen for our Mishloach Manot, and by feasting together. And of course, we look forward to seeing one another dressed in costume next week!

As Alana's Grammie, I get so VERY excited when I see her picture in this BLOG. The blog has been a WONDERFUL means of communication. It has allwded me to feel connected to Alana while she is at school.
ReplyDeleteIt has also helped me to be able to ask her
directed questions about her day! Thank you Ellen and teachers. Warmly, Anne Puchkoff
The first thing Eli said when he got in teh car Monday was "Hamen is bad Booo!" He certainly gets it. Noah and Eli also like to see who can Boo Hamen's name the loudest! Looking forward to the groggers next.
