Part 2...Human Body Discussion

During free play we had the opportunity to look further at Oliver's books. I asked him if he wanted me to read the books to him, and he said, "No I can read it myself." First he read How a Baby Grows, "The baby is small, bigger and then bigger. You see that rope it's connected to the mom and it gets food for the baby." The next section was information about Teeth. Oliver said, "If you eat too many cookies you get cavities." Isaiah chimed in, "If you eat too much junk food like jimmies or candy it's not healthy, and you could get cavities." The next page was all about the Digestive System. They seemed well versed on this page! Oliver showed me where the pooping column was and then he showed me the peeing column, as he pointed to specific area in the book. Isaiah went on to say while pointing to certain areas on his own body, "The pee comes out here, and the poop comes out right here."

Unfortunately Oliver did not get a chance to finish reading the book to me. I hope he remembers to bring the Human Body Book back tomorrow! I love when the children read to me!
