Purim Puppet Theatre

After hearing several versions of the story of Esther, Ahasuerus, Mordecai and Haman, the Sunshine children were eager to put their own spin on the Purim story. Using the stick puppets, the children took turns playing the different roles, without concern for the gender of the character. Interestingly, some children, like the menacing Eli, love playing Haman, while others decline the role of bad guy entirely. When not playing a character 'on stage', the children play an important role with their active audience participation; our graggers are being put to good use and add to the fun and excitement of telling, hearing, and re-enacting this tale.
