The author of this book, Yanitzia Canetti, presents children of all ages ranging from 5 years of age to 11 years of old who take care of themselves, others, and their environment.
We asked your children to reflect back on the actions and come up with words to describe the actions.
"I can be president, too. I ask questions until I understand the answer. I try try again. I never give up. I work hard to get what I want. Vote for me. I am determined," we read in the book. "What does that mean?" we asked. "Respectful," responded your children.

"I share my books. I help raise money for my school. I bake cookies for my neighbors. I am generous," we read on the next page. "What does that mean?" we asked. "Nice," responded your children.
"I do my homework. I walk my dog every day. When I promise to do something, I do it. Vote for me I am responsible," we read. "What does that mean?" we asked."Helpful," responded your children.
"I have great ideas. I am good at puzzles. I love to invent things. I always look for more than one answer. Vote for me. I solve problems," we read on. "What does that mean?" we asked. "Smart, make the idea, or problem solve," responded your children.
"I turn off the lights when I leave the room. I recycle bottles and paper. I never throw trash on the ground. I protect animals. I even plant trees! Vote for me. I take care of the earth," we read. "What does that mean?" we asked. "Save creatures. Save electricity, the world," responded your children.
"I get my friends to join teams and school activities. I use good reason to convince others. I am a role model. Vote for me I am a leader," we read. "What does that mean?" we asked. "Show people what to do," responded your children.
"I help my friends understand each other. I try to end arguments. I think of answers that are good for everyone. Vote for me I work for peace," said the book. "What does that mean?" we asked. "Help people think of ideas they can't figure out, help people," responded your children.
We asked your children whether WE do all these things in the Kohavim class?
