“The teacher is one who makes two ideas grow where only one grew before.”- Elbert Hubbard
I view children as natural self-motivated learners who are capable, strong, and curious about the world around them. I respect a child’s ability to express his/her ideas, interests, and personality. Children have rights, as do all of us who live on this earth. They have the right to wonder and play. They also have the right to be in loving environments that allow for individual growth, safety, happiness and to be listened to carefully by others.
In my classroom, the environment sets a tone that supports community building among children and adults. This is done through using problem solving skills, as well as, the development of social and emotional skills.
As a Jewish educator, I teach and model Jewish values relevant to our lives today. I make Jewish learning a natural part of the classroom. I value the dignity and potential of each child and their families. I strive to work in partnership with each family to build a shared sense of responsibility for the learning and growth of their child.
