Celebrating Nature ~ Tu B'Shevat

We are multi tasking in the Unicorn Room: transforming our classroom into a post office with much needed supplies, and getting news that soon it will be Tu B'Shevat.
We learned that it is a Jewish Holiday celebrating nature, specifically the trees and all the wonderful things they provide us.
We asked friends: What do you like about trees, what do they give to us?

Some responses were : "apples, pears, shade, leaves, bananas, and seeds".

Unicorn friends work cooperatively to make our own indoor tree. Sadie couldn't quite reach the top and concluded she needed a chair; up she went ever so carefully stretching to get the placement just right.
We will be looking at different fruits grown on trees and comparing them and enjoying their taste. In addition we will also be making a fruit struedel, made from figs and apricots.
