On Fridays our lunch bunch has cooking day. The children decide the week before what they want to make for the following week. We have had lots of recipes (not all of which we have posted).. This Friday we made sweet potato chips. As we were preparing them I heard, "Oooh that doesn't look good. Then the real test.. the TASTE test.. After they tasted it, I heard "It's like when you never tried anything before, then you do and you like it." Yes, it is good to explore and taste different foods. If we don't taste them we will never know what we like. At the end of our time together I heard the hallway smelled like we were cooking latkes. We might consider making latkes using sweet potatoes. What do you think?
